Thoughts:

First off, Aisukurimu (icecream), the gerbil, was not hurt during this shoot. ^_^ Gerbils can be held by the base of their tail with no problem and I didn't really eat her, either. ^_^

To make this cute waitress kittygirl costume, I used Simplicity pattern 9818 for the shirt and no pattern for the apron/skirt. I couldn't find a shirt pattern like Nuku Nuku's with puff sleeves, so I used the puff sleeves from a leotard pattern, Kwik Sew pattern 2310. For the apron part, I first cut out the skirt but measuring on my body how long I wanted it. Then I doubled the fabric and cut out a half circle by measuring and marking it with pins. The waist band and straps were very easy to make by simply using measuring tape. I inserted a zipper into the waist band and skirt. The bow in back was made from my Sailor Moon costume bow pattern.

The bun covers were made by cutting out two large circles from yellow satin and hemming them all the way around. Then I made button holes around the edges of them so that I could insert the ribbon into them. I styled my pink wig carefully like Nuku Nuku's and tied the buncovers on. Now I think I may have to buy a new pink wig because I really don't want to undo my hard work. o_O

The shoes were my Tira-misu shoes dyed pink. I'll have to buy some new white ones for Tira-misu.

I stole the bell from a stuffed animal of mine. It conveniently already had a red ribbon with it. I'm going to be jingly while I wear this costume! ^_^
