Thoughts: There were a lot of things wrong with my first Morrigan costume. My wings were too small, my shoes weren't the right style, my purple tights had a run in them, and well, since I'm striving for as much accuracy as possible, I lacked the thong leotard. So, when Carolina proposed that we both remake our Morrigan and Lilith costumes I decided to take her up on her offer! Construction: Wings: Using what I had learned from my first pair of Morrigan wings, I made another pair, this time twice as large. Instead of using coathanger wire I used wire that I purchased from Radio Shack. I constructed a frame. For fabric, I used a very thin, stretchy shiny black vinyl with a leather-look texture to it. It was perfect! For the insides I found a gorgeous blood red fabric that is shiny and has a strange texture to it. Bodysuit: I was going to completely remake this, but decided my first bodysuit made of black velvet was fine, and only needed to be adjusted a bit. By adjusting, I mean that I needed to turn the back into a thong. ^_^' Tights: I bought a pair of sheer-to-the-waist white tights and dyed them dark red. Then I put them on and drew the bats on with a black marker. I then took the tights off and colored in the bats. Shoes: These were purchased online but the site seems to be down. You can find the same shoes for slightly more, however, at The Funky Bootique. Wig: This was purchased at ezwig.com. Gloves: The same gloves I used for my first Morrigan costume. I dyed some long white opera gloves pink and cut the fingers off, leaving a ring left for the middle finger. |
