Thoughts:

I made this one a few days before Otakon '00 and wore it as a surprise costume. ^_^ I already had everything I needed to make it! I had just finished watching Otaku no Video and thought that a Misty May costume would look really good if it was made out of red pvc vinyl... and I remembered I had red pvc vinyl. ^_^ It was also a great chance to do something more with my short pink wig. I have since sold this costume on the eBay Auction for America.

Construction:

Ears: These were shaped from wire. I covered them and a thick headband with red pvc vinyl. I drilled two holes into the headband with a knife and put the ears through them and reinforced them with more hotglue.

Wig: My first pink wig, washed and given a hair cut.

Top: This was the most difficult part and has to be pinned to the red leotard to keep down, but other than that I was very happy with how it came out. It was made from white satin using a shirt pattern and modifying it.

Necktie: I made this with no pattern out of purple satin and iron on stiffener. The clasp was made out of sculpy and painted.

Body suit: This was also made from red pvc vinyl. I used a leotard pattern from my Quick Sew pattern book and cut out the front and back where needed.

Tail: This was made for my Bunny Lum costume out of white fur and stuffed.

Gloves: I purchased the black gloves but had to lengthen them with more black lycra. The yellow bows were made from strips of yellow lycra.

Stockings: The stockings were my Cardgirl stockings, dyed purple.

Shoes: I reused my Cardgirl shoes and added strips of red vinyl for the ribbon and bows. Two heart buttons were sewn onto the bows.

Wand: The wand was sculpted out of model magic and painted. I used a super long hot glue stick for the handle and painted it gold. It's very light weight and hasn't broken! ^_^
