Lum

Thoughts:

Lum was the first costume that I constructed. The idea came when my mom had some left-over tiger-print fabric, which I don't remember the original purpose of. I took a bikini of mine and hand-sewed the fabric onto it. I then bought go go boots while in Atlanta and made bootcovers for them. The horns were made of clay.

After I became more interested in cosplay and saw how great an accurate costume could be, I was ashamed to have ever done this costume . I decided I would make up for it by redoing the costume right. I again used a bikini for a base, and hand-sewed yellow felt onto it. I then painted the stripes on, using pictures of Lum for reference. The boots have different styles of stripes, depending on the episode, so I chose the stripes that I liked best. I found some horns while at Dragoncon, and painted them. I also colored my hair green with temporary hair coloring but I now have a wig for future Lum cosplays.
