Thoughts: I decided to try making Belldandy's swimuit when I was invited to a cosplay pool party! But anyways, I made this suit in about an hour the day before. It was a good chance for me to practice the panning technique, which is sewing different blocks of fabric together. Unfortunately, I was not able to wear this costume to the party. I discovered that when it becomes wet, it becomes *see through*. -_-;; I consider myself very lucky that I tested it before wearing it!! *sigh* I didn't have time to line it then. I might if I want to wear it to swim for real, but it does make for another cute costume of a character that I love and feel I can pull off rather well. Construction To make this swimsuit, I used a panning technique and pattern out of my Kwik Sew leotard/swimuit pattern book. It does take practice but is useful for many costumes. I think it looks a lot nicer to sew designs in rather than paint them on. My sister had an extra box of pink RIT dye and I dyed some white lycra that I had. I used a blue marker for the face markings and my earrings from my first Belldandy costume. |
