Thoughts:

I thought that this alternate coloring of Ayane was very beautiful so I decided to make it. I also loved the giant bow.

Construction:

Dress: I used a pattern for a sundress and modefied it to look like Ayane's by shortening it, detracting the straps, and adding the slit. I also added purple trim and the red butterfly, which came off of a pair of panties ^^;. I wore a bra with clear straps.

Sleeves: I sewed the sleeves, then added elastic to the tops.

Obi and Bow: I used a yellow fabric and ironed on Craf-t-fuse to make it stiff, then carefully painted on the orange and red. In order to make it tight on the waist I put eyelets and ribbon into the back of the obi so that it tightened like a corset. I glued elastic onto the bow and tied the bow around my waist, hiding the elastic with the obi.

Boots: I bought a pair of black ankle boots at Target (it was almost impossible to find a pair in summer) and carefully cut and glued fabric to them.

Headband: I cut a long strip of yellow lycra, painted it, and tied it like Ayane's headband.
